The ensemble Correspondances was founded in Lyon in 2008. It gathers specialist singers and instrumentalists of the French Grand Siècle under the direction of harpsichordist and organist Sébastien Daucé. The ensemble not only rediscovers renown composers such as Marc-Antoine Charpentier but also rekindles the image of musicians nowadays little known but quite requested in their time, such as Antoine Boësset or Etienne Moulinié, whom modern music directly affects us today.
From its creation, the ensemble has chosen to specialize in the French sacred 17th repertory, as shown by their first six recordings, all internationally awarded.
The ensemble performs at a national and international scale. It has been invited by the festivals of Saintes, Ambronay, Pontoise, OudeMuziek Utrecht, MA Festival Bruges, Musikfest Bremen. Their concerts led them to Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, Japan and Colombia
The Caisse des Dépôts and Mécénat Musical Société Générale are Correspondances' main sponsors. The ensemble is also supported by the Ministry of Culture (DRAC Rhône-Alpes), the Rhône-Alpes Region, the city of Lyon.
