The Orquestra Divino Sospiro is a project based on the quality and faithfulness of the baroque repertoire, without ever giving up its own creative instinct.
The orchestra created by Massimo Mazzeo gained a reputation for having the highest standards of interpretation, following a difficult route to predict for a chamber orchestra founded and based in Portugal.
Divino Sospiro is honored to work with the most important Portuguese institutions, such as the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Centro Cultural de Belém, São Carlos National Theater and Casa da Música. During the year of 2017 the orchestra had the honor to presents in two concerts for the President of the Portuguese Republic and Diplomatic Corps. As the international context, we find Divino Sospiro in venues such as: Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, Festival Ile de France (recorded by Radio France), Folle Journée Nantes and Tokyo, Festival d’ Ambronay (recorded for Radio France), Gdansk Mozart Festival, Musikfest Bremen, Bargemusic Festival in New York, Festival de Musica Antigua de Sevilla.

The recordings of the orchestra deserved the highest achievements, among them “5” of Diapason, the renowned specialized music review. Divino Sospiro is actively involved in the promotion of pedagogical and musical education of the Baroque period. In order to promote the practice with a theoretical study, in 2013 Divino Sospiro established a partnership with the Parks of Sintra-Monte da Lua, allowing the creation of the Center for Musical Studies of Portugal (DS-CEMSP). The center develops studies and investigations, critical editions, international colloquia and high-quality music sessions, which are awarded by some prestigious festivals worldwide. It counts on important personalities of the Portuguese cultural life, having the honor to have the ex- President of the Republic Dr. Jorge Sampaio as Honorary President.
