Lucile Boulanger began learning the viola da gamba at the age of 5 with Christine Plubeau, and pursued her studies with Ariane Maurette and Jérôme Hantaï. She finally entered the Paris Conservatoire (CNSM) in Christophe Coin’s class. There she received her Diplôme with highest honours in 2009.
She was awarded several international prizes such as the Bach-Abel competition in Köthen, Società Umanitaria in Milan or Musica Antiqua in Bruges.
As a chamber musician, Lucile performs and records with various ensembles or soloists such as Philippe Pierlot and Ricercar Consort, Christophe Rousset, Hugo Reyne, François Lazarevitch and Les Musiciens de Saint-Julien, L’Achéron. She also works with larger orchestras as Ensemble Correspondances, Les Talens Lyriques, Pygmalion.
Moreover, she frequently appears as a soloist in France and abroad. Her two recordings with the harpsichordist/pianist Arnaud De Pasquale for the label Alpha (Bach in 2012, C.P.E. Bach and Graun in 2016), were praised by the press.
In November 2018, a first opus dedicated to Forqueray and his passion for Italian violin music was released with the Harmonia Mundi label.
