Teodoro Baù is one of the top up and coming viola da gamba soloists on the baroque scene. He completed his master studies at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with distinction, studying with Paolo Pandolfo. He was awarded the first prize at the 6th Bach-Abel Wettbewerb in Köthen and was also a finalist at the 7th Internationaler Telemann Wettbewerb in Magdeburg (2015) and at the international competition “Musica Antiqua” in Bruges (2014). Teodoro has several recordings to his credit, with Alpha – Outhere, Deutsche Harmonia Mundi, Decca and Naxos and has collaborated with Cecilia Bartoli, Diego Fasolis, Leonardo Garcia Alarcon and Cappella Mediterranea, Amandine Beyer and Gli Incogniti, Giuliano Carmignola, Duo “Les Voix Humaines” (Margaret Little and Susie Napper), Alexis Kossenko and Vivabiancaluna Biffi. Teodoro was awarded the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship for the academic years 2013-2014 and 2014-2015.
